The Foggy Farmers ![]() In 2009, we began our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, which is now the heart and soul of the farm. We love it dearly, and are thankful for all of our CSA members who make the farm so much stronger--not to mention keep us company every Wednesday! Our plan is to move towards a "whole diet" farm that can provide all the necessary ingredients for a balanced diet-- vegetables, fruits, grains, beans, meat and even oil. We started by establishing a diverse vegetable repetoire, and a flock of free-ranging laying hens. We have also planted an orchard, and recently added barley, oats, and wheat to our fields. Over the last four years, we've built up a dozen heirloom bean varieties. We have raised Thanksgiving turkeys, and our next project is to trial broiler chickens and meat rabbits in movable grazing pens. After that we have to get our bee hives back up and running. And then we'll tap the wild Black Walnut trees and boil them down for syrup! (at least in our dreams)

Lynda grew up in San Diego, then moved northward for college. Lynda studied creative writing and journalism, and we both studied Earth Systems (aka interdisciplinary environmental sciences.) Lynda focuses her energies on the animal side of the farm, while Emmett takes care of the vegetables. In 2010, we celebrated our wedding on the farm! In 2011, Sasquatch Books published Lynda's book about Foggy River's first year of farming adventures. And in 2012, we welcomed little farmer Gillian into the world. She has become an expert bean sorter and puddle splasher.
